This is exclusively a hostel for females and has single as well as double rooms. Junior students (first, second and third years) are predominantly accommodated in double rooms.

HIPPOKRATES

This is a mixed hostel that accommodates mainly male students but also a limited number of females. There are single as well as double rooms in this hostel and junior students (first, second and third years) are predominantly accommodated in double rooms. Females are accommodated on the second floor.

KERKENBERG

Although the residence is not situated on the Tygerberg Campus it is still within walking distance. This residence was upgraded before occupation in 2001 and with its single and double rooms (some with bathrooms) it is an excellent facility. It is a mixed residence with male and female students accommodated on separate floors.

MEERHOFF
Type A (single) and B (duet)

This housing complex with its six buildings accommodates 24 students per building (eight per floor). It offers comfortable single accommodation, as well as kitchen facilities, to mainly senior students. Junior students will only be considered for this facility if senior students do not fully occupy the complex. This is a mixed complex with floors separating gender. The difference between type A and B is that in type B a kitchen is shared by two students while in the case of type A a kitchen is shared by all eight students accommodated on the floor.

Two additional blocks (consisting of 18 single and 12 double rooms per block with communal bathrooms) are in use since January 2003. These two blocks mainly accommodate junior students. It is mixed blocks with male and female students accommodated on separate floors.
